Canada's federal energy regulator has proposed enhanced requirements to protect the environment and public from construction and other activities near oil and gas pipelines. Four sets of draft regulations under the National Energy Board Act would update existing requirements to clarify the responsibilities of pipeline companies, landowners, land users and the general public when planning to conduct an activity around a pipeline, the National Energy Board (NEB) said March 19.
