Manitoba Drought Plan to Assess Impacts Of Climate Change on Water Supplies

A management plan announced by Manitoba that would include reports on water availability, drought conditions and preparedness levels, among other things, will provide a better understanding of dry conditions and their impact on water supplies, a provincial official says. Conservation and Water Stewardship Minister Tom Nevakshonoff told Bloomberg BNA Jan. 19 Manitoba's Drought Management Strategy also would help with understanding the connection with climate change that threatens to increase the severity of future droughts.
