摘要

The French engineering education system has been the subject of a good deal of historical research by both French and non-French academics. This keen interest can be at least partially explained by a number of specific features of the French system when compared to those of other countries, which have constantly intrigued both past and present observers, in particular the creation of several key engineering training establishments at a very early stage, beginning in the 18~(th) century.
