摘要

Almost 18 months after formally disbanding their F-35 engine development team, Rolls-Royce and General Electric still do not have access to material developed as part of the Joint Strike Fighter's second engine program as the process of distributing that equipment remains incomplete. The RR-GE team building the Joint Strike Fighter's now-defunct second engine, known as the F136, officially broke up in December 2011 after it became clear neither the Defense Department nor Congress, the F136's primary defender, would offer to fund the motor's remaining development. At that point, the team and DOD entered into termination proceedings to determine the disposition of F136-related property, such as test engines, spare parts and other components.
