FERC tech conference in September examines energy, ancillary services

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission staff will lead a technicalconference focused on potential reforms in wholesale energy andancillary services markets.The conference is open to the public and will take placeremotely on Sept. 14. FERC members are invited to participateas well.Among various panels throughout the day, FERC staff will discusswhy regional transmission organizations and independent systemoperators want to reform the energy and ancillary services markets tobetter accommodate flexibility on the system. Such reforms wouldseek to help address net load uncertainties.
