CHOOSING A TECHNOLOGICAL FORECASTING METHOD

Many technological forecasting methods have been reported in literature, and they have been applied widely. As forecasting results are typically influenced by the forecasting method used, it is important to determine the forecasting method that will be most appropriate to a given situation. The objective of this article is first to identify the main factors affecting technological forecasting and then to determine the degree to which the factors are important in choosing a particular forecasting method. This relationship between the factors affecting technological forecasting and the various forecasting methods is helpful in selecting the appropriate forecasting method for a given situation.
