Reported acute symptoms in the air cabin continue to be a challengernto understand and deal with.1 Long-termrnexposure to low relativernhumidity (RH) as one major risk factor for eye symptoms has beenrnsuggested.2 Furthermore, the presence of volatile organic compoundsrn(VOCs), emitted from materials, consumer products, food, or as humanrnbioeffluents, has been suggested as causative agents in certain conditions;rnVOCs may also undergo atmospheric reactions, which mayrnoccur in the gas-phasernand on surfaces, due to ozone in the cabin air.
