ACI: A century of distinguished service to concrete!

While this issue goes to press, the Spring Con vention of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) would have kicked off, celebrating 100 years of ACI's outstanding service to the professional concrete engineering community worldwide. Beginning modestly as the National Association of Cement Users in 1904 with just 161 members, the ACI has grown to be a truly international organisation with around 30,000 members in 116 countries! Right from its inception, ACI has upheld to its motto " progress through knowledge" and it needs to be complimented by the engineering fraternity for continuing to fulfill its basic mission — to develop, share and disseminate knowledge and information needed to utilise concrete to its fullest potential.
