Simple Circuits CeraDiode Protection Devices

Greetings and welcome to Simple Circuits. In this column, I will review a relatively new series of circuit protection devices known as CeraDiodes. CeraDiodes are manufactured by Epcos and are widely available in a variety of form factors. Many electronic products interface to the outside world and one would certainly be well advised to implement such protection devices when designing these types of equipment. Examples of outside world interfaces include serial and parallel data ports, video I/O, audio I/O, USB, Ethernet, DSL, memory card interface, push button switches, the list is almost endless.
