The grammar of the film language formalizes the patterns of camera works and film editing techniques used in movies. This research proposes a method for detecting two persons' conversation scenes from a movie according to the patterns of camera works and screen composition in the grammar of the film language. In such conversation scenes, one person is in the left or right half region in a shot, and another person is in the opposite side region in another shot. According to these characteristics, the proposed method detects conversation scenes. In the method, faces and eyes are detected first. Based on the information about the faces and eyes, the system detects conversation scenes. As an experiment, we have tried detection of conversation scenes from five movies, and have confirmed the effectiveness and limitation of the proposed method.%映画の撮影技法を形式化したものに,映画の文法がある.
