Purpose: Mobile learning is an emerging need of the hour and thus an attempt has been made to know its awareness among students scholars, faculty members and library professionals of the University of Jammu. Methodology: A survey was conducted in the premises of University of Jammu and randomly students, scholars of different departments, users, library professionals and faculty were interacted to gather the first hand information. They were interviewed with the pre-designed questionnaire and general interaction was also made out to collect information. Findings: It has been found that mobiles are used by number of respondents for learning purposes but the topic clearly was not known to them. The various software and applications used for this is known to a smaller group of respondents. Higher educational institutions like Universities have not yet started any initiative in this regard. Libraries can take lead as librarians are directly associated with each stakeholder of the institution. Originality: This study has been carried out for the first time in the premises of University of Jammu and the observations are interpreted here.
