摘要

Explicit formula for design of PI and PID controllers are derived for an unstable first-order plus time delay system. A condition for the maximum value of (τ_d / τ) for stability is derived. The performance of the PID controller with the proposed controller settings is compared with that of DE PAOR and O'MALLEY. The present controller settings give less overshoot and less settling time for both the servo and regulatory problems.
