Federal minimum wage. The federal minimum wage rate will prevail over less beneficialrnstate rates. Employers of workers who are subject to both state and federal minimum wagernrequirements must pay employees the greater of the two rates. Under the Fair Minimum WagernAct of 2007, the federal minimum wage rate is $7.25 per hour, effective July 24, 2009.
