Employers consider new tools to improve employee health

To control the cost of health care, employers have relied on shifting costs to employees in recent years. But now, that's changing. Will you be changing, too, and if so, how? According to a new survey from Hewitt Associates, employers are now strongly emphasizing ways to keep employees healthy - and mitigate the need for costly corrective treatment. Some 88% of the 500 firms surveyed plan to invest in improving workforce health over the next 3-5 years. Many of these solutions fall under the "wellness" heading. That number was up sharply, from 63% in the previous year's survey.
