摘要

The American Association of Housing and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) and the Stewards of Affordable Housing (SAHF), providing HUD their opinion about the future direction the Section 202 program, said that the use of low-income housing tax credits should be encouraged, but not required, for a program that will rely more on a mixed-finance model to build projects at a cost-effective scale.rnThe comments were submitted following a March 24 stakeholder meeting where HUD sought opinions on a reinvention of Section 202. The department said that it wants a redesigned program that enhances Section 202 grants with other financing while encouraging partnerships with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to create supportive housing.
