Swavelle/Mill Creek Unit Buys Craftex, Quaker Fabric Designs

Textile Fabric Associates, a unit of the Swavelle/Mill Creek Fabrics Group, has agreed to acquire all of the residential-based intellectual property of the Craftex and Quaker fabric lines from The Victor Group, a Quebec-based textile resource. The deal, which includes the rights to the Craftex trademark, includes the entire line of fabric designs, as well as a substantial library of artwork, constructions and artistic documents. "Craftex will strongly complement the offerings of TFA with a broad range of fabric appealing to the upper-end market," said Greg Thomases, vice president of TFA. He said the company plans to launch a Craftex division in mid-2014 that features an expanded product line. Until the launch, the company intends to support customers buying the current Craftex line.
