Fane Acoustics Ltd was founded in 1958 by A E Falkus and D A Newbold and operated from Batley, in Yorkshire. The three-way Trio and the four-way Quartet cabinets were shown in the 7959 Hi-Fi Year Book, along with a 1 2in drive unit and a high frequency tweeter, available separately for the DIY market. The Quartet retailed for ￡35.0s.0d, and incorporated a 12in bass unit, an 8in mid and two 6 × 4in tweeters. By 1962 the model 151 15in bass unit had been released and the company had relocated to larger premises in Batley.
