This statuesquefloorstander is an imposing four-way design; finished in black oak or vintage cherry veneer it appears to be an awful lot of speaker for the money. (Add £500 for the luxurious deep-gloss black piano lacquer here, or lustrous Burgundy Burr options.) The cabinet is formed of a composite material that Wharfedale calls Crystalam, claimed as superior to MDF, 'a series of critically specified natural wood elements and composites formulated to reduce panel vibration and acoustic leakage.'
