Overkill is perhaps the word for this five-disc set of new Chris Rea material. It's hard not to admire Chris's technical prowess, his gritty growl and his devotion to blues, but three CDs and two DVDs is a lot to absorb. Devotees, of course, will salivate at the prospect of so much product at a bargain basement price but great music should be about quality, not quantity. Sadly, the Stonesy riff of 'Rock And Roll Tonight' and the Dire Straits pastiche of 'The Chance Of Love' are absolutely music by the numbers, typical of most of what's on offer.
