Heather Elliott had an up-close and personal look at the life of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. From 2001 to 2002, Elliott clerked for Ginsburg on the nation's highest bench, spending long hours with the outspoken justice and feminist icon in her chambers. Now a professor at the University of Alabama School of Law, she returned to Washington last week to participate in a vigil for her former boss and mentor. "When her casket was brought up the steps, it was a very powerful experience," Elliott recalled in a recent interview.
