Guifeng Jing (GJ) wrote in our May issue that "I plan to do some research work on the establishment of integrated system of systems for users in China, to help domestic providers of digital maps, regional and thematic service systems, and service operators to sit together and discuss the possibility of setting up an interoperable system."rnAlan Cameron (AC): Tell us more about this.rnGJ: We began to promote this in March. The challenge of digital information provided to users in China is that we have several different corporations in this field, maybe seven or eight that provide the service, digitalized to users. But each corporation has its own products. We have no common standard to let them share the data today seamlessly.rnWe also have some problems to bring the data from each different brand product to use together to solve specific problems. So it's very important for us to find a solution to this.rnWe want all of the eight different corporations to sit around a table together and discuss this problem. They are willing to solve this problem to find some standard that they can use together, and then they can share the data with different overseas brands, and fuse it together to provide the service to users. We have made some progress but we haven't reached the end yet.
