Integrated, embedded devices are production, R&D focus

Single-function connectors for SD/ micro SD cards, CompactFlash (CF) cards, SMCs, SIM cards, MMC cards and IC cards are regarded as mainstream products and are widely produced in Taiwan, but demand is up in the sunrise integrated connector industry. Manufacturers not yet into integrated memory card connector mass production are adjusting their production plans in response to mounting orders. Integrated connectors are typically miniature interconnect devices that serve two or more functions, primarily to save on PCB space and suit the most compact of applications such as mobile phones, PDAs, laptops, MP3 players and digital cameras.
