China Leads in Clean Coal

China uses more coal than the United States, Japan, and Europe combined, making it the global leader in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. However, after decades of building low-tech, inefficient coal-fired power plants, China is now the major world market for advanced coal-fired power plants with high specification emission control teehnology systems, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).
