The young missionary was flushed and earnest as he related the story: A team of scientists had located the mausoleum of Alexander the Great. Inside they found the king's skeleton, perched on a throne, surrounded by all the riches of the earth. The thing closest to him was a tattered scroll; one bony finger pointed to a scripture from Matthew in the New Testament: "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"
