I read the Forbes.com story about the world's most expensive cities with great interest. None of my friends believed me when I told them that Moscow is the priciest city on earth, so thanks for helping me win a couple of bets. However, do you really think the commodity boom is the only source of Moscow's prosperity? I was just there, and the place is flooded with dirty money. There are corrupt politicians, gun dealers, mafia, people who made a killing during the Cold War days, etc. They all have well-paid bodyguards who are armed to the teeth and make more money that most of us will ever see.
