A big change is coming to food hygiene inspections in Hull

Food outlets in Hull are set to be charged £160 if they want their hygiene ratings re-scored by the city council. The new charge is being introduced after the proposal was approved via a decision record without being considered by councillors. The council expects to receive around 30 applications a year from businesses requesting a further inspection after a poor rating under the scores-on-the-doors scheme.
