The fascinating feature on the making of the movie Battle of Britain (FlyPast August) brought back vivid memories of an unforgettable afternoon at Duxford on July 21,1968 when, with my wife and two children, we gate-crashed our way onto the set by pretending to the security guard that we were friends of an Australian doctor in the production team.rnI was an RAAF officer on a two-year exchange posting with the RAF School of Education at nearby Upwood and on seeing the aircraft involved fly over on their way to Duxford, was determined to see them on the ground.
