I was sad to see Gordon Brewer (FlyPost, November) being so dismissive about the TriStar in his article. (Capital's' with Lockheed and the airlines, but small's' for the RAF - ed.) I was one of a small group of pilots selected to introduce the aircraft to the RAF in 1983. We were trained and rated by British Airways and for 19 months operated with mixed RAF/ BA flight deck crew and a great bunch of volunteer BA cabin crew until taking on the mantle of 'Two Sixteen' - 216 Squadron.
