The eight passengers on board are happy enough. As Classic Wings' DH Dragon Rapide HG691 flies out from Duxford over a patchwork of sunlit Cambridgeshire fields, Fowlmere and then Bassingbourn - famed World War Two air bases - unfurl beneath us. Yet, there s a sense of anticipation, with necks craning backwards, looking out to the right. This is no ordinary flight. Something appears on the horizon. Though nothing more than a dot, it's a dot that grows in size and develops in form very quickly. Darting in from rear starboard like a bird of prey is the now unmistakeable, elliptical-winged shape of a Supermarine Spitfire. From this angle, it appears to be moving at immense speed.
