Product tanker markets remained in a stubborn doldrum last week, even though fundamental indicators were pointing in what should have been an upward direction. Scorpio Tankers was in the news with one-year in-charters of four vessels, including three MR-size product carriers, at rates of Sl2,000-12,250/day, and one LR vessel, described by its owner as a product tanker, at $13,850/day.rnFearnleys in Oslo pegged one-year period rates on MRs and LRs at$13,000/dayand$15,7S0/day - giving an indication of Scorpio's strong bargaining power. Optional periods are built into the LR deal, as well as one of the MR vessel charters.
