A Mexican phone company called iFone has claimed victory in a trademark stoush with Apple, meaning the world's most valuable company could be open to a potential compensation payment. A Mexican court has again rejected Apple's bid to protect the iPhone name in a case that began in 2009, when iFone sued the California-based company because the similar-sounding names caused confusion. Apple released the iPhone in Mexico back in 2007, four years after the iFone says it registered its name. "It is the third time that Apple loses and this demonstrates the legal truth: iFone is within its full right to use its brand," the iFone statement said.
