Belgium wishes to guarantee the traceabil-ity of nanomaterials with a view to protecting consumers and has proposed five measures along those lines. "It is essential to reassure consumers that products on the market that contain nanomaterials or are made using nanotechnology do not constitute a health hazard," declared the Belgian Minister for Consumer Affairs, Paul Magnette, at a conference on the subject, on 14 September in Brussels.
