Total Pipeline Integrity

The save operation of pipelines or pipeline networks and managing their integrity requires a lot more than just controlling the flow of the product in the pipe(s). Besides the efforts for the daily routine work of the dispatcher(s) in the control centre, many more activities take place, that are directly or indirectly connected with the operation of the pipelines. With more and more, former state owned, operator- and transportation-companies being privatised on one hand, and the necessity to reduce the cost of pipeline operation in private companies on the other hand, the question of cost effective pipeline integrity management steps into the foreground. PII Pipeline Solutions has performed the next logical step and introduced the "Total Pipeline Integrity" concept to support its customers even better. The paper outlines the essentials of PII's new philosophy by explaining the roots and basics of "Total Pipeline Integrity " as well as showing examples how customers have benefitted from this concept in the past and will do so in the future.
