G8 underperformed on climate, say Barroso and Toepfer

Stronger action should have been taken against climate change at last week's Heiligendamm summit. That was the message of European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso in his opening speech at Green Week, which focused on eco-innovation and biodiversity (see story this issue).rn"I would have liked more, but there was a lot of progress," he said at the European Commission's flagship green event on 12 June.
