Biofuels projects win top awards at Green Week

Biofuels is one of the environment's current hot topics - and this year's European Business Award for the Environment in the Process and International Co-operation categories went to biofuel projects.In the Process category, CHOREN GmbH (Germany) won for developing a process that produces high purity biofuel from biomass. The second generation biofuel does not use plants intended for food, therefore avoiding the food shortage/biofuel controversy. It is low in pollutants, almost CO_2 neutral, and compatible with current and future diesel engine technology.
