UK: Progress on packaging and food waste; but not supply chain

The food and drink industry in the UK has failed to meet targets to reduce the carbon impact of its supply chain, according to a progress report published last week by the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP). However, WRAP congratulated the 53 signatories to the Courtauld Commitment II agreement, all leading UK grocery retailers and suppliers, for being half way to achieving their packaging reduction target, and three quarters of the way to reaching the household food waste objectives.
