Agency Seeks Plans for Reducing Stormwater Runoff From Urban Areas

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources announced that it will award up to $10 million to reduce stormwater runoff from heavily developed land and invited localities and nongovernmental groups to submit proposals. The money will be awarded in 2014 to the most cost-effective plans for reducing nonpoint nutrient and sediment pollution in densely urbanized areas, Gabe Cohee, a DNR restoration finance analyst, told Bloomberg BNA Oct. 31.
