State's Energy Efficiency Programs Deliver Cheaper, Cleaner Energy, Agency Reports

Connecticut's investment in energy efficiency and conservation programs is flattening demand for electricity, and state efforts to pursue renewable energy programs are delivering cheaper and cleaner energy, state energy officials said Dec. 11. Information contained in a draft energy program plan issued by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection showed that long-term contracts signed with large wind, solar and biomass facilities are expected to save Connecticut ratepayers more than $235 million over the next two decades.
