Scientists at federal facilities in Colorado say the proposed cuts in the Trump administration's recent budget request will have devastating impacts on research in energy, environment and climate change science. The reductions to the budgets of the Commerce and Energy departments outlined in a March 16 budget blueprint could result in layoffs and programs getting mothballed at research laboratories in Colorado, including the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden and the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder.
