Pesticide Traces in Food Are Broadly Safe, EU Agency Concludes

Consumers face minimal health risks from eating food with multiple traces of pesticides, meaning no newregulations are needed, an independent EU food safety agency found.The European Food Safety Authority, or EFSA, announced on Wednesday results of a study into people’s cumulativeexposure to pesticides in food. Based on the minimal risks, the agency concluded there was no need for new rulesto reduce pesticide exposure—a conclusion welcomed by pesticide manufacturers such as Bayer AG.
