Judge Gives EPA, Environmentalists Time To Settle Pesticide 'Mega' Suit

A federal judge is giving EPA and environmentalists six months to come to a settlement on how to limit harm to scores of endangered species from more than 300 registered pesticides, while denying an effort by industry to dismiss the "mega" suit on jurisdictional grounds. In a hearing earlier this month, Judge Joseph Spero of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said EPA and the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) and other groups would have until Nov. 1 to reach a settlement in their suit CBD, et al. v. EPA or the stay in the case will lift.
