EPA Urged To Quickly Finalize Pending Tier III' Vehicle Emissions Rule

States and emission control manufacturers are urging EPA to quickly finalize the agency's long-awaited final "Tier Ⅲ" fuel and vehicle emissions rule, with states touting the expected air quality benefits from the regulation and the emissions control industry seeking sufficient lead time for the auto sector to upgrade its manufacturing ability. EPA's rule, which will require a reduction in the sulfur content and fuel and other steps to cut vehicle emissions, has been under White House Office of Management & Budget (OMB) pre-publication review since Jan. 24.
