Engineers reiterate offer of assistance

A group of representatives from engineering organisations and associations set up to offer a coordinated engineering response from Australia to the tsunami disaster last December reiterated its preparedness to assist government and nongovernment aid agencies wherever they might need engineering expertise. Following the group's second meeting on 15 February, on the invitation from Engineers Australia's national president Prof Andrew Downing, the Institution's chief executive Peter Taylor wrote to seven care organisations including Caritas, Red Cross and World Vision offering the group's and Engineers Australia's assistance.
