Australian Science Innovations has selected Dr Mark Toner to chair its board. He was formerly chief executive of engineering and construction company Kvaemer E&C Australia. Australian Science Innovations is a non-profit organisation that runs the Australian Science Olympiads and the Rio Tinto Big Science competition. Defence Materiel Organisation's (DMO) programs general manager Warren King has been seconded to the US Secretary of the Navy until September. A Defence spokesperson said King will tell the secretary about DMO's approaches to program management and acquisition, especially how these were applied to the Air Warfare Destroyer project. King graduated in electrical engineering from the University of NSW.
