Michelle Thompson

Prior to becoming chair of WIENC, Michelle Thompson was on the Chemical College Board and SA Women in Engineering Committee. She has been involved in developing prototype female-friendly PPE, creating an industry blueprint for professional women's programs, and hosting the International Conference for Women in Engineering and Science. Thompson currently works with infrastructure and resources organisations, helping them to secure large bids and setting up major projects for success. While she worked on several large infrastructure projects as an engineer, she feels that using her experience to help other organisations ensure projects succeed is a greater achievement. She said: "I feel that in this way I am helping to make engineering projects and practice better."
