Education and Legislation Are 2005 Priorities for AGC

Education and legislation—for both transportation and water infrastructure—are topping the agenda for the Associated General Contractors of America. "We put our money where our mouth is with support for the ACE Mentor Program," said outgoing AGC President Jim Waltze, at the group's annual convention, held March 14-17 in Las Vegas. The AGC board pledged $200,000 over the next four years to the multidisciplinary program that introduces inner city high school students to construction industry careers. Waltze is president and CEO of The Griffith Company, Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
