MORGAN SINDALL TO OVERHAUL EDINBURGH STATION

Morgan Sindall has been awarded a GBP7-million (US$11.2-million) contract by Network Rail to overhaul the entrance to Edinburgh's Waverley Station, the station's biggest enhancement since the end of the 19th century. The contract includes rebuilding Waverley Steps and installing escalators. The renovation project began in February and is expected to be completed by July 2012. Network Rail plans to keep the station in service with as little disruption as possible while the improvements are carried out.
