Because amino acids are an important substrate for Gluconeogenesis and a fuel alternative to glucose for Oxidation, we evaluated whether hypoglycemia antago- Nizes the hypoaminoacidemic and the antiproteolytic Effects of insulin and changes the de novo synthesis of Glutamine, a gluconeogenic amino acid.
