摘要

If any organization is serious about being successful then learning must occupy a prominent place on its agenda. And with the business environment increasingly characterized by complexity and change, learning becomes even more critical. Firms which fail to heed its importance will invariably struggle to compete domestically let alone on the global stage. Learning comes in different forms but is essentially either formal or informal. According to much existing research, it is the more informal types which are most significant in workplace contexts. Informal learning is defined as being unplanned and therefore less predictable than more formal alternatives like training and education programs, for instance.
