摘要

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the mostcommon joint diseaseleading to structuraland functionalimpairmentcaused by articularcartilageloss, subchondral boneremodeling, synovialinflammation,and osteophyteformation. [1,2] OAleads to physical disability and pain and worsens quality oflife. Althoughmany studies havetried to identify therisk factors for OAdevelopmentand progression in thelastseveral decades, theresults were unclear. Arecentstudy defined variable modifiableand non-modifiablefactors ofOAto includeage, sex, obesity, trauma, prior sports injury, inflammation,and genetic predisposition. [3,4] Diverse dietary and nutritionalcomponents, such as vitaminsand fatty acids, may also contributeto OApathogenesis.
